Chaque anneau est fait à la main autour d'un mandrin, le tube est poli avec un marteau et est plus épais au tournant et plus fin vers l'articulation. Cette rétrécissement nécessite une main stable et quelques efforts pour réussir.

L'utilisation du cuivre près de la peau est une pratique plus ancienne que la plupart des choses auxquelles nous faisons confiance aujourd'hui.
